What is CTE?
Mission
LEUSD's Career and Technical Education (CTE) provides students with technical skills, integrated activities, knowledge and work ethic necessary for successful performance in a globally competitive workforce. CTE will be continually examined through a review of issues, trends, and needs affecting the field, to reposition and meet its goals and objectives in our schools.
About Career and Technical Education
Career & Technical Education is an integral part of secondary and post-secondary public education and is designed to educate students about and for careers.
- Career & Technical Education provides students with the technical skills, knowledge, and training necessary to succeed in specific occupations and careers.
- It also prepares students for the world of work by introducing them to workplace competencies that are essential no matter what career they choose.
- Career & Technical Education takes academic content and makes it accessible to students by providing it in a hands-on context.
Career Pathways and A-G Approved Classes
LEUSD offers robust programs of study organized in career pathways, academies, and A-G approved course work. Many Career and Technical Education classes are articulated with local community colleges to provide a seamless transition from high school to post-secondary education, so students may continue with occupational training and professional certification.
