Attention to all persons who may have been enrolled in the Lake Elsinore Unified School District with a date of birth (DOB) between 1-1-1994 and 12-31-1995 and may have received Special Education services:
Lake Elsinore Unified School District, as a public agency, is purging Special Education records of all students with a Date of Birth (DOB) between 1-1-1994 and 12-31-1995. 34 CFR 300.624(a) mandates that, “The public agency must inform parents when personally identifiable information collected, maintained, or used under this part is no longer needed to provide education services to the child.” As such, all individuals with a DOB between 1-1-1994 and 12-31-1995 will have ‘aged out’ of services provided by LEUSD, and consequent confidential Special Education records will be destroyed as of July 10, 2024.
This posting shall serve as notice that if we do not hear from you prior to July 10, 2024, we shall assume we have your approval to destroy the records which are no longer needed and fall within the date range of DOB between 1-1-1994 and December 31, 1995.
If you were served by Special Education services and believe you may have a confidential file in our archives and want custody of said file, call (951) 253-7130 for more information.
Thank you,
