LAKE ELSINORE—A new TK-5 elementary school will open in August of 2020 to serve the Alberhill Ranch community in the City of Lake Elsinore’s north end. Groundbreaking for Alberhill Elementary School begins at 8:30 a.m., Monday, August 5, 2019, and is open to the community and public.
Construction on the 16-acre site, located at 4170 Brianna Circle, began in June of this year. Funding is through Measure V, LEUSD’s first school bond measure approved by voters in 2016, and also with developer fees and state school facilities funds. The project cost is estimated at $30 million. Construction management is by Erickson-Hall Construction Co., Escondido, CA. MGPA Architecture, based in Carslbad, CA, is providing LEUSD’s newest elementary school campus footprint and design.
Alberhill ES will have state-of-the-art technology, such as classroom iPads, interactive TVs and smartboards, as well as communications and security systems, also funded through Measure V. A solar project on campus includes covered shade structures in lunch and student pick-up areas. Maximizing water and energy efficiencies in environmental systems, lighting, and grounds is a high priority.
Trustees recently designated Tuscany Hills ES principal Jeff Marks as the new principal of Alberhill ES. Mr. Marks is working with Personnel Support Services on hiring and staffing in readiness for opening day on August 12, 2020. Alberhill is expected to serve up to 600 TK-5 students initially, with design capacity for up to 850. Families of students that live within the Alberhill ES school attendance area will be notified by mail this fall, giving them adequate time to transition into their new school.
