Important Information for Drill Team Tryouts:
Eligibility:
Anyone interested in trying out for Drill Team must meet the following
requirements:
*Academic Eligibility: Students must have a passing grade of C or above in all subjects.
*Behavior Eligibility: Students must have good citizenship in all subjects/classes (S or above).
*Attend tryout practices and tryouts.
What to Wear to Tryouts:
Dark tank top or T-shirt Sneakers or jazz shoes
Dark shorts or leggings or athletic pants Hair pulled back in ponytail (recommended)
Selection Process:
The tryout selection committee will be adults who have had background in dance/ cheer/ drill team. Part
of the score will be based on the routine. The judges will be looking for knowledge of routine, sharpness,
arms, levels, cheer, smiles and timing. The final part of the scoring will be based on citizenship.
Judges/teachers will be looking for students who show respect, organization, attitude and responsibility.
*Each student will be given a tryout number.
*Students will be called by number to tryout in groups.
*Students will be judged based on their performance, and behavior.
Scores will be sorted from highest to lowest and the team will be determined from there. The results will
be posted on Parent Square by Friday after school. The posting will only show the students tryout
numbers.
