Virtual FAFSA and CADAA Workshop Feb. 25th from 6-8PM. High school students planning to go to college or trade school in the 2021/2022 school year, can get help filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which are the forms that qualify you for financial aid from the federal government to help pay for college. FAFSA apps are due MARCH 2nd!
There will be two simultaneous sessions, one in English and one in Spanish, featuring a line-by-line demonstration on completing the FAFSA or CADAA. Please click into the Teams meeting below:
Completing the FAFSA or CADAA typically takes 45 minutes. To ensure that we can optimize time together, and that we have a successful Teams session, we ask that you have the following information available:
- Student and parent's FSA ID, if you already have one; or create an FSA ID. (for FAFSA applicants) OR go to www.caldreamact.org to create a username and password for student and parent. (for CADAA applicants).
- A copy of the student and/or the parent's 2019 Tax Returns, if filed*.
- A copy of the student and/or the parent's 2019 W2s, 1099s and/or Schedule Cs, if worked, and,
- All 2019 untaxed income information. Untaxed information includes, but is not limited to, child support, housing, food, and other living allowances, veterans non-educational benefits, etc.
Deadlines are important when it comes to applying for financial assistance. Starting the application process early is the key. We hope that offering these virtual services will be helpful to your family, and will encourage early completion of the FAFSA or CADAA so that you are able to maximize your opportunity to receive financial assistance.
Please note, this workshop is not just for those planning to attend Mt. San Jacinto Community College. It is for all students preparing for any college or certified trade school during the 2021/2022 academic year. We thank you in advance for your participation and look forward to assisting you and your family.
